9-2-00: Pat Noonan came over with the truck, and we got the trailer
hooked up and loaded the tractor for the trip to Pontiac for the Midwestern
Threshermen's Reunion. We also put the sun shade, the folding table, our
chairs and the cooler in the truck. It is pretty barren at the Pontiac
site, and shade is hard to find. We got to the show in good time, and set
up our display. We forgot to bring the anchor kit and the rubber do-dads
that hold the tarp to the sun shade frame. Rats.. We used some
wire in the corners, and made do.

I took the B over to the Prony Brake, and tested it for horsepower. We
used a PTO hookup and tested several times. The best power made was about
17 1/2 horsepower. The Nebraska test for a B like ours showed 19 1/2 hp,
so we are a couple of ponies low. I bet the DTLX-10 carburetor is the
problem, as it is about 1/16" smaller in the throat than the DTLX-34 that
belongs on the engine.

It stated to get pretty hot, and the wind came up a bit after lunch.
As Pat and I returned to the sun shade, we found Carolyn setting in a
chair reading a book, and the sun shade dismantled. She said the wind
flipped it right over and took it apart. We were done for the day, and
loaded everything up for the trip home.
9-9-00: Carolyn and I went to the Sandwich fair today. We met
Fred Lestena and his wife when we were leaving Fay's Pork Lunch tent and Paul
Anderman over in the tractor area (friends from the Will County Threshermen's
Association.) Small world. There is lots to do at this fair, including an
unlimited tractor pull.
9-17-00: Carolyn and I went with Pat Noonan to the Will County
Threshermen's Association summer picnic at South Island park, over in
Wilmington. They had the election of Directors for 2000-2002, and somehow,
I got elected. I guess hard work at the show paid off.
9-24-00: Carolyn and I drove over to the Valparaiso, Indiana show.
It was pretty cool, and a little misty. The show was smaller than
last year, due to the weather. We left the show at lunch time, and drove
up to Michigan, where we bought a couple of half-bushels of apples. We
also drove over to Barrien Springs, where the 2001 Two Cylinder Expo will be
held. We want to take the tractor there next year, and we wanted to see
how to get there without dragging the trailer around.
